A major chunk of these projects, worth around Rs 5,130 crore, were related to the railways. "Today, many works related to railways have been done. Gujarat has got projects worth more than Rs 5,000 crore today," PM Modi said in Gujarati, addressing a public gathering at Dabhoda village in Mehsana district. The railways, he added, would play an important role in the development of industries and tourism in the region. Dabhoda village is near Vadnagar, PM Modi's hometown.

The Uttarakhand government has announced the establishment of the Rajaji Tiger Reserve Conservation Foundation with the aim of promoting ecological, economic, social, and cultural development in and around the Rajaji Tiger Reserve. The decision was taken by the state Cabinet at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Secretary S S Sandhu told reporters at a press briefing after the meeting. Protection of the natural environment in and around the reserve and providing alternative livelihood opportunities to the local communities to reduce their dependence on forests are some of the major objectives of the foundation, the chief secretary said.
